HEALTHY AND YUMMY RECIPES FOR HOLDIAYS
Holidays are here and with it comes a lot of holiday foods. Most of us feel conflicted about being healthy and being able to enjoy the holidays with our loved ones. But what if you could have both?
We believe that we should be able to enjoy the foods we love and not feel like being healthy is becoming a burden. So why not find a way to have it all. We’ve put together two of our favourite healthy but yummy recipes that you can try during this holiday season. We absolutely love these recipes! They are sweet, yummy and healthy. The joy of creating healthy recipes is that you can indulge in your sweet tooth without feeling guilty or adding any extra kilos. So here you go!
APPLE CRUMBLE
INGREDIENTS:
- Apples: 5-6 apples
- Blueberries: 2 cups
- Coconut Sugar: 1 cup
- Olive oil: 6 tbsp
- Oats: 2 cups
- Mix oats + coconut sugar + oil in a pan.
- Cut the apples in small cubes.
- Heat the pan, add a little bit oil and add the apples into the pan. Let the apples soften up and once they look soft and golden brown, add blueberries.
- Once blueberries are mixed up, get the mixture out onto the baking tray. (Make sure you oil the baking tray first)
- Add apple-blueberry mixture first, flatten it and then add the oats crumble on the top, spread it evenly and then let it bake on 180 degrees for 20mins.
- It will be ready when the crumble looks golden brown.
- Take it out and let it sit until it cools down and ENJOY!
GINGERBREAD NUTRIMEAL SHAKE
Here we have a very special recipe for you that you can create using your Nutrimeal Shake and if you haven’t tried it yet, then get your very own Nutrimeal today and get set for the holiday season.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk or skim milk
- 2 scoops French Vanilla Nutrimeal
- 1 scoop Dutch Chocolate Nutrimeal
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
- 1 ½ tsp. ground ginger
- 1 dash ground cloves
- 1/2 cup ice
DIRECTIONS:
Imagine a rich and delicious gingerbread house you can take with you and put into your belly. Put all the ingredients into a blender and mix for 30 seconds.
Nutrimeal is our favourite protein shake because it is low glycemic, which means that it doesn’t spike up your blood sugar levels and helps us curb our cravings for sugar or other foods. During holidays it becomes really hard to have balanced meals and having one shake a day can ensure that you are getting some healthy food during the day.
