PROTEIN ROTI RECIPE

If you’re a roti lover, you can use this healthier version of roti to get your protein up and at the same time enjoy yummy roti. You can put salt in it and eat it with cream or chutney or pickle. You can also make it without salt and eat it with your curry. Protein roti helps you stay full for longer and enjoy being at your ideal weight. This is because protein breaks down in our body slowly and so we stay full for longer. It also helps take away our cravings.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups Black chickpea flour
  • Green chilli chopped
  • 1 large onion choppe
  • Salt to taste
  • Leftover dal

DIRECTIONS

  • Mix all ingredients together and make a dough.
  • Remember that because of the kind of flour that this is, its not easy to use a rolling pin (Belna) on it. So follow the method we use in this video.
  • Cook your roti on a pan/tawa and enjoy!

NUTRITIONAL FACTS:

We recommend having this roti because it is high in protein and fibre, which makes it low glycemic.

Low glycemic – means it that it breaks down slowly in the stomach, thereby keeping you full for longer.

When you eat low glycemic foods, your blood sugar stays stable and you don’t have cravings for unhealthy foods and sugar. This makes it much easier to maintain your ideal weight.
