TROPICAL CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIE-BOWL

For the last month or so, we’ve been enjoying lots of yummy smoothie bowls. Deep and I came to India during the lockdown to be with our family and it’s been really hot, so we’ve been loving having lots of mango smoothie bowls. The thing I love about smoothie bowls is that, we can pack so much nutrition into a small bowl and it tastes so yummy!

Today, I bring you our Tropical Chocolate Smoothie Bowl, because we all need a bit of chocolate in this time 😉

BENEFITS

Flaxseed: Amazing for your hormones because they are loaded with omega-3 fats and are a rich source of dietary fiber. To make sure the powder is potent with nutrients, grind it right before using it or grind enough for a week and keep refrigerated.

MANGOES: Good source of  antioxidants, Vitamin C, Vitamin A and fiber. These are amazing for your skin.

OATMEAL: Rich source of fiber, so it’s great for digestion and keeps you full for longer. It’s also contains vitamins, minerals and protein. We recommend getting unsweetened rolled oats and cook them at night so you can use them cold in the morning for your smoothie bowl.

COCONUT OIL: It contains healthy fatty acids which are great for your brain health. It’s especially great for the skin in dry weather. I always add extra in my smoothies if my skin starts to get really dry. It’s also great for digestion.

FIBERGY: Contains soluble & insoluble fiber and inulin. Fiber helps to relieve constipation, maintain healthy weight range, lower blood cholesterol and support heart health and bowel health. Inulin is a prebiotic which feeds your good gut bacteria and helps to keep a healthy digestive system.

CINNAMON: Has antimicrobial and anti-parasitic properties. You can take 1/2 to 1 tsp a day.

COCOA/CACAO: It’s a known fact that chocolate helps us get into a good mood. We usually crave chocolate when stressed because it has magnesium and other minerals that help us relax. We prefer cacao, but if that’s not available, then cocoa works just as well. Cacao happens to be the unprocessed version of cocoa. Make sure you get unsweetened cocoa/cacao powder.

DUTCH CHOCOLATE NUTRIMEAL: A low glycemic protein shake in chocolate flavour. It contains, protein, fiber and a small amount of carbs (the right amount of carbs that our body needs to release weight). The thing we love about this protein shake is that it tastes so damn good, unlike other protein powders that we’ve tried before. It’s also fabulous for baking and in hot chocolate. Trust us when we say that not all protein powders are cooking friendly.

When it comes to smoothies, make sure to add as much raw foods in there as you can. It’s the yummiest way to get all the raw foods that we know we should be eating.
